ONYX Graphics has confirmed that ONYX 7.3.2 is compatible with Windows 7. We will continue our testing and list any issues we may find below for your convenience. If you identify issues running 7.3.2 with Windows 7 please log a case under the Support Web Portal and a member of the Support Crew will be in touch to discuss your case.
- Windows 7 users must have and install the latest HASP driver from Aladdin. The current and only version that supports Windows 7 is 5.86. This was recently released by Aladdin. More information can be found at the their site at:
http://www.aladdin.com/support/hasp-srm/vendor.aspx
Users may also obtain this driver from ONYX Support by clicking here.
- Some users with
7.3.2 have reported they have been unable to configure the HP Designjet 8000s,
HP Designjet 9000s, and HP Designjet 10000s printers without getting an error #4
in the console window when starting RIP-Queue. The new
drivers for these printers in version X10 will work with Windows 7.
- Some users have reported they have been unable to configure the videonet connection for HP Colorspan printers. The Output process will start, however it stops responding while trying to communicate with the printer. This issue can occur with Windows 7 64-bit. Using the 32-bit version of Windows 7 appears to function correctly.
- It has been reported that the IPXUSB driver for Seiko printers is currently not compatible with Windows 7. ONYX Graphics is working to update Seiko drivers to implement the Seiko IPXUSB for 64 bit support. Please watch for further updates announcing the updated driver release on the ONYX Printer & Profile Download Manager.
- An updated Mimaki firewire and USB driver set (version 3.00) that is compatible with Windows 7 can be downloaded from Mimaki's website or from the ONYX website by clicking here.
After installing the Epson Stylus Pro GS6000 you may get an error #4 in the console window when starting the RIP and the printer will remain uninitialized. To resolve this issue, download the following file from our FTP site:
ftp://ftp.onyxgfx.com/TechSupport/732/Windows7/EpsonNetSDK.dllPlace this file in the ONYXSYSTEM directory and restart the RIP.
We have a couple of reports that some integrated network adapters will not communicate properly with networked printers. Small jobs may print, however larger jobs fail with a "Print Data Error... Print Aborted" message. In one case, installing and using a network adapter card instead of the on-board adapter resolved the issue.
