One of the most significant additions in ONYX 25.5 is Spot Layer Generation directly within the Layout Tool. Users can now create and edit white ink, spot color, and varnish layers during layout creation, eliminating the need to switch between applications during job preparation.

Advanced Spot Layer Controls further expand specialty printing capabilities, offering advanced masking, knockout controls, multilayer workflow support, and media color simulation. Operators can even preview artwork on colored or specialty substrates before sending jobs to production.

New Hybrid ICC/iccMAX profiling enables spectral color management, while Spectral Color Matching and Smart Spot Search evaluate additional ink combinations to identify the closest achievable color match.
